Hi. I’m Robyn, and I provide affordable website copywriting services for small businesses.
Does the following sound like you?
“OMG, I just need someone to write my business website without going broke.”
If yes, keep reading.
I’ve been working as a freelance copywriter since 2002, and website copy has been my bread and butter.
I understand the sticker shock people feel when they get quotes for website development. There’s hardly anything left for the copy, which I think we can all agree is important. And the rates for website copywriting can be pretty darn pricey, too. (I’ve been there.)
And even if you’re in the DIY website camp, using Wix or Squarespace to build your site, you still need the words.
That’s where my affordable website copywriting services come in. I’ve created these packages specifically for super small businesses with tight budgets, and yet you get my 20+ years of experience, fast turnaround, and sunny disposition. 🙂 (Check out my website copywriting portfolio.)
Why am I doing this? Well . . .
I believe in small businesses and want to see them thrive.
I’m tired of seeing small businesses with crappy websites. I recently visited a local handyman website with NO way to contact him—no phone number, no form. (Yes, this is a true story.)
These website copywriting packages aren’t for every small business under the sun, and that’s OK.
But if one of these packages fits your budget and what you’re looking for, email me at robyn@etrobbins.com, and we can set up a FREE Zoom call to see if we’re a good fit.

My Process: How it Works
First, we have a discovery call to see if we’re a good fit (up to 30 minutes) – this is FREE. I record the call only because if we do end up working together, you’ll likely share some good nuggets I can use in the copy.
If it feels like a good fit, you select a package, and I’ll send you my freelance agreement for your electronic signature along with a statement of work (SOW) for approval via email.
You pay the deposit or the entire cost (depending on the package) up front via PayPal. (Package #1 is paid up front. For the other packages, you pay half up front and the balance within 24 hours of delivery of the content.)
Once I have the signed contract and payment (if applicable), I’ll send you a Google Doc with questions. The more thoroughly you fill it out, the better the results will be. YOU HAVE ONE WEEK.
We’ll block my writing day or days (depending on the package). This includes the kick-off call. If you’re not available to do the kick-off call on the morning of my writing day, we can schedule it the day before.
After the kickoff call, I do my thing. (In other words, I write, write, write.)
I deliver the copy, and you pay the balance upon delivery (within 24 hours).
You can request LIGHT revisions (you need to submit them within two business days and include them in the Google Doc). Light revisions include word changes here or there, slight adjustments or tweaks to an occasional sentence or headline, or corrections of anything that’s factually incorrect. These packages don’t support full-blown revisions. The way to think about it: You’ve chosen this down-and-dirty approach to website copy to save money and to get something out there. Full-blown revisions aren’t part of the deal.
FAQs About My Affordable Website Copywriting Services
You got questions. I got answers. (Feel free to reach out if you have a question that I haven’t answered here.)
Why am I offering such affordable website copywriting services for small businesses—especially given that I have 20+ years of experience?
I’m in a different place in my life and in my business. I have other things going on (like my fiction career, my YouTube channel, and my newest venture into the death industry—yes, that’s a thing). I’m looking for short-term projects that I can do well and deliver quickly. If I work two to three days a week on copywriting projects, then I have time for my other stuff.
Am I devaluing what website copywriters do?
I don’t think so. There’s enough room for everyone, including the copywriters who charge $250/page (I’ve been there) and the copywriters on Fiverr who will write an entire website for $100. While the adage “you get what you pay for” is often true, just because something is affordable, that doesn’t mean it’s automatically cheap or isn’t any good, especially in this case, when you’re working with someone with over twenty years of experience.
BTW, I’ve designed these packages specifically for small businesses (think small local businesses and entrepreneurs). If a bigger brand came knocking wanting one of these packages, I’d politely decline.
But $349 and $599 are “cheap,” relatively speaking! Won’t you lose money?
I consider $349 or $599 a good payout for a day’s work. The beauty of this fast approach is that it pushes me to get the copy done—to work in a burst of creativity, which can be a ton of fun.
Plus, don’t forget, I’m not doing this work every day.
Will I use AI to write the copy?
I use AI like I use any other writing tool: when it makes sense. In some cases, I might lean on AI a little more heavily. In other cases, less so. But honestly, whether I use AI or not is the wrong question to ask.
Better questions to ask:
- Does the copy read well?
- Is it accurate?
- Does it reflect your business and sound like you?
No matter what tools I use, my job is to make sure the answer to the above questions is yes.
Read more about my AI philosophy here.
Will my website be optimized for search?
I do BASIC optimization, meaning I’ll quickly identify a reasonably appropriate keyword for each page that I write. I’ll include appropriate metadata (optimized title tag and meta description). I’ll structure each page according to best practices (optimized headlines, skimmable text, and bullets when appropriate). But that’s basic stuff. If you’re looking for your site to drive a ton of traffic and conversions or sales, that’s a whole different ballgame. And a pricey one at that.
The copy I’m providing is for starter websites or for super small and/or local businesses that need a website presence to help close business. For example, someone needing a handyman might type in “handyman near me,” “handyman services near me,” or “handyman + name of town.”
For the “near me” searches, you need two things: a Google Business Profile (here’s how to claim yours—Google Business Profiles are free) and a website.
Think about how you search. If you’re looking for a handyman, you’ll likely check out the Google Business Profiles that pop up, starting with the reviews. That might be enough for you to call someone. Or you might click over to the website to check out the business a little more deeply. That’s where having a decent website helps close the sale.
But if the handyman website is optimized for search, it could appear in the organic listings. The handyman I mentioned earlier—the one with a site that didn’t have a phone number—his site came up on the first page of Google for “handyman + the name of his town.”
Keep in mind that an optimized website involves much more than just the words. The way the site is built also affects things.
Bottom line: I provide polished copy with basic optimization.
Will my website be optimized for large language models, like ChatGPT, or Google’s AI Overviews?
That’s not the goal. That said, it’s possible LLMs or AI Overviews could surface a page on your website.
Again, let’s use the handyman as an example. Let’s say someone asks ChatGPT what’s involved in installing grab bars in a bathroom. Let’s now say ChatGPT uses the handyman’s blog post on grab bar installation to help ChatGPT provide an answer. While “cool,” that doesn’t necessarily drive business. The person asking ChatGPT the question might have been asking in a casual way. Or because they want to do it themselves. They might be on the other side of the country.
I don’t recommend stressing about whether your local small business comes up in AI Overviews or LLM chats at this point. Focus more on your Google Business Profile (especially reviews) and having a decent website presence.
Why do you have a contract I have to sign electronically and a statement of work that I approve via email?
My master freelance contract applies to any work we do now and in the future. Some clients come to me for one project (like website copy) and go on their merry way, which is A-OK! Others have me write their website, and then they might use me for other projects, like monthly email newsletters (one example).
Instead of issuing a new agreement for every project, the master agreement covers the nitty-gritty legalities, and the statement of work (SOW) simply outlines (in plain language) the current project in an email, and it only requires an email response with “approved.”
How do I know if this is right for me?
You landed on this page for a reason, right? Either you googled something like “affordable website copywriters” or someone referred you to this page (like a web designer).
And some of this probably sounds familiar, too:
- You’ve been dragging your feet with your website because you don’t know what to say.
- You want professional website copy, but didn’t think you could afford it.
- You LOVE the idea of moving quickly and the concept of “done is better than perfect.”
- You can get out of your own way (at least, with some prodding).
- You’re not “precious” when it comes to the words describing your business.
The last two items are the main reasons website projects fail. The beauty of a website is that if you spot a typo or decide six months from now to change your messaging, you can do it easily. Websites SHOULD evolve over time. And that includes the copy.
But getting back to your question . . . is this the right approach for your business? There’s no harm in having a FREE discovery call to see if we’re a good fit and whether my availability works for your timeline.
The call is free, so you have nothing to lose except 30 minutes of your time. Even if you decide this isn’t a good fit, you’ll likely walk away from the call with a better idea of what you do need.
Get in touch and let’s see if we’re a good fit.
