Need an Interim Content Specialist?

Book directly with me and skip the staffing agency fees and hassles.

Hi, I’m Robyn. I’ve been working as a freelance content writer and copywriter since 2002. One of the things I love doing most is working with marketing teams on a short-term basis, stepping in as needed.Testimonial that reads: "“Thank you so much for keeping our content fresh while I was out enjoying baby bliss.” ~ Mariah B, Content Marketing Manager for a B2B SaaS Company in the Transportation Industry"

I often refer to myself as a pinch hitter—that person you can call up when things are too tight to handle internally.

I can do everything from drafting blog posts, refreshing existing ones, creating and optimizing website pages, managing editorial calendars, humanizing AI output—basically whatever you need that’s content-related.

Here’s the BIG thing: I’m not looking to permanently replace anyone on your team. I love the freelance life too much—being my own boss and not wearing pants most days.

But I am the perfect person to serve as an interim content manager or specialist when your go-to person goes on parental leave, sick leave, disability leave, or bereavement leave—or leaves for lunch and never comes back.

Or maybe you just need a reliable freelance writer on your bench to call up once or twice a year during a busy time, or for a special project or two.

All those scenarios work for me.

What I Bring to the Virtual Table as an Interim Content Manager or Specialist

  • Ability to get up to speed quickly on your business, brand, and voice
  • Willingness to take on small chunks of work rather than a full load
  • Willingness to take on more than small chunks
  • Expertise in all things content marketing
  • Experience in SEO content writing
  • Experience in social media, particularly YouTube
  • Experience using AI tools ethically and well (check out my AI philosophy)
  • Experience in B2B and B2C across a wide range of industries
  • Attention to detail
  • Plus, I’m like a dog with a bone when it comes to deadlines

How I Work as an Interim Content Specialist or Manager

The best approach is having a clear plan and scope going in.

For example, maybe your content manager is going on parental leave. You have some internal coverage, but you still need help with three months’ worth of blog refreshes. That would be a great fit for me.

In that scenario, here’s what I’d want to discuss up front:

  • Editorial calendar with the number of blogs slated for refreshing
  • What an acceptable refresh looks like in your eyes
  • SME access
  • Submission process (Word, Google Docs)
  • Approval process
  • Deadlines

Those are the types of things we’d discuss during a discovery call to see if I’m a good fit.
