Dear Robyn,
I realize I talk a lot about Facebook in this newsletter, but that's because I believe in the power of this social medium.
From setting up a page to understanding advertising, there's a lot to keep track of, which is why I'm providing a list of 5 Facebook resources you might want to keep handy.
1. How to set up a custom iFrame landing page application. The big news since Facebook rolled out its revised layout for pages is that it's moving away from static FBML and moving towards iFrames. Facebook will continue to support existing FBML tabs (for how long remains unclear), but after next month, you won't be able to add any new FBML tabs. The name of the game is iFrames, and HubSpot has a good tutorial on how to set up a custom iFrame landing page application.
2. How to create effective Facebook ads. I love Wildfire, a social media firm, and all of its helpful info, including this blog post on how to create an effective Facebook ad.
3. Top 75 apps for enhancing your Facebook page. This list from Social Media Examiner has lots of I-did-not-realize-I-could-do-that ideas.
4. Using Facebook effectively. Having a page isn't enough. You need to understand the accepted rules and meet people's expectations. Check out this great article from Chris Brogan called "An Insider's Guide to Social Media Etiquette."
5. What should I talk about? One of my most popular newsletters and blog posts of all time is the one I did on 15 status update ideas for your company page on Facebook. Here it is.
See you next month! Best,RB
